Feed a Cold, Start a Season

My September started strong. With the kids back in school, I let out my inner flannel shirt wearer and was ready to get my life in order. I leaned into Virgo season with a weekday morning routine that included exercise, remembering to eat breakfast, Duolingo, and sometimes even a little meditation. I scheduled alarms and reminders in my phone. I had a system and sustained it for several days. My body felt looser. I was reading more because I was too tired to scroll through shows at night.
And then the most tragic thing possible happened – I got a cold. A bad one. Or maybe my hyperactive immune system just makes colds seem that way. I had to pause my workouts. I had to lay down, a lot. I was getting nothing done life-wise and I hated it. All I could do was pull homemade chicken soup out of the freezer (that I’d thankfully stashed) and remind myself that rest is also a good thing.
